1996/5/6 COCO Human Trash Disposal

(dream) I am in a major city of a foreign country on a trip with my husband. We are riding local public transportation late at night. It is so late that before we know it, we've spread out futons and are riding lying down. We are being transported on a giant conveyer belt, futon and all. This is apparently New York's means of disposing human trash. We roll down a giant pipe, still in our futons. In the final step human and futon are separated and we tumble into the raw heat of a furnace, resembling an incinerator. From there I get up and am outside the furnace. I came out of one of three furnaces, on the far right, in front of which is another just like it. It was so narrow that even with help, getting up would be difficult. At any rate, I get out and look around. Everyone is struck with fear. A person eating yoghurt when caught in the human trash disposal complains that he and his futon are a sticky mess. It is indicated dangerous for children. The city's trash disposal policy requiring that people be carted off safely seems rather rough, does it not?
